I didn’t realize how simple it is until it happened to me by accident.
Previously I was operating under the assumption that I needed to create viral content, and then opportunities would come to me.
I never considered that it was possible for someone with virtually no followers (on YouTube in my case) to make thousands off of a single piece of content.
Then it hit me.
What if instead reaching as many people as possible, I focus on creating content that’s both useful, and clearly leads people directly to an offer?
To do this I figured I’d need to vertically align every stage of the customer journey from content, to awareness of my offer, to clicking on the offer landing page, and then making a purchase.
So that’s what I did.
I had previously created a custom GPT that I used for my own personal projects. I repurposed it for public use, then I created a landing page explaining what it does.
After that, I published a blog article titled “I used AI to rewire my brain and destroy bad habits”.
From there, I used the article verbatim as a YouTube video script, and created a very cringeworthy 17-minute YT video with the same title.
In the video I demonstrated myself using the custom GPT, and mentioned that it was available for purchase with a link in the description.

I hit publish, then went to sleep expecting nothing to happen.
But when I woke up and checked my email, to my surprise, there were sales notifications.
People actually watched the video, followed the clear next steps I outlined for them, and then bought what I had to offer.
I spent that week on vacation in London enjoying life, sipping tea, and trying out all the best brunch locations all while sales kept rolling in. $4973 in a week.
That’s when I was convinced that internet-based solopreneurship is THE single best investment anyone could make if they want to break free of the golden handcuffs, and focus on more enjoyable aspects of their lives.
Specifically, this ordeal taught me three very important lessons:
Using the internet to generate revenue is not necessarily easy, but it IS laughably simple IF you do it correctly.
People tend to spend months delaying action even though a profitable business idea can be tested and validated in as few as 2 or 3 days.
In this age of unemployment, layoffs, and job insecurity… choosing NOT to invest any time or energy into learning how to leverage the internet for alternative income is one of the greatest fumbles of our generation.
With that said, I can definitively say that for most people, online solopreneurship is the way.
What exactly does online solo-entrepreneurship look like?
I want to be clear that it does not mean being an influencer. Nor does it mean being a “content creator”.
It simply means, you upload your thoughts, expertise, and lived experiences into the ether so that others who would benefit from your knowledge have an opportunity to find you and pay for it.
This generally entails creating some form of content about a topic you intuitively understand, and adding a call to action that directs people on where to go next. That next step can include:
A paid consultation link
Purchasing a pre-packaged digital resource
Signing up for coaching, a program, or a community
Scheduling a discovery call for consultation services
Booking you for speaking events and workshops
A link for employment recruiters to interview you
etc…
Conceptually, the revenue model is insanely simple.
But the implementation can be a bit complicated. I’ll save that part for a different day.
